PCC Youth Commission project

We have been chosen by the Norfolk Police & Crime Commissioner  deliver an exciting new youth project across Norfolk and the pilot phase has now been completed.

The Youth Commission is a fantastic project which enables young people to have their say and is led by a passionate group of members across the county aged 13-25. To date we have gathered the views, experiences and solutions from over 1600 young people countywide on policing and crime centred on the following topics:

·        Peer group pressure & social media

·         Abusive relationships

·         Relationship with the police

·         Substance abuse

·         Mental health

·         Journeys through the justice system

Our goal is to raise awareness on these topics and feedback solutions to the Police and Crime Commissioner who is keen to  support young people to take an active part in their local communities and advocate positive change.

We are now taking the findings from the pilot stage on to develop a high impact strategy which will see the youth commissioners taking a high profile role in addressing issues that are important to young people in our county.

A report on the project activity and outcomes has been produced and outlines the next steps for the youth commission.
